Description:This 1950 photograph, taken on Centers for Disease Control’s Chamblee campus, depicts a group of laboratorians conducting research in the Venereal Disease (VD) laboratory.
Today, in 2005, laboratory protocols are much different then when this image was captured in the 1950s. Gloved hands and proper laboratory coats are now considered a must, in order to maintain a clean sterile environment free of contaminants.
