This historic 1965 photograph, depicted Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) staff members, James G. Paine (left), and R. Meuleners, as they were going over the blueprint and corresponding wooden model of a new CDC facility, which was being constructed on the organization’s Chamblee, Georgia campus. At the time, the CDC was known as the Communicable Disease Center, and was under the auspices of the Department of Health, Education and Welfare (HEW).
