This 1976 photograph showed technicians that were loading a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) mobile quarantine facility (MQF), into an aircraft that was on its way to Atlanta, Georgia. It took a C-141 jet to transport this MQF, which was bought from the United States Air Force museum for $1. This isolation compartment was used to quarantine Kent Campbell, MD, MPH, during a Lassa fever medical evacuation, from London to New York City.
