This Yambuku, Zaire hospital surgical theatre block was used as a temporary ICU for Ebola patients during the country’s 1976 outbreak. This location also housed the International Medical Commission’s (IMC) radio station. In 1997, Zaire was renamed the Democratic Republic of Congo.
