This 1975 photograph depicted the upper reaches of a shallow, vegetated Wyoming reservoir, which was a known Aedes melanimon mosquito habitat, and which was analyzed for the presence of larval organisms. A. melanimon is a medium-sized, salt marsh mosquito, and a known vector that transmits the California Encephalitis virus.
