This 1997 photograph shows workers, employed by a family-owned fireworks shop, climbing a tower in order to assemble a fireworks display, for an upcoming fireworks festival in Tultepec, Mexico. This was one of a series of images, (see PHIL ID#’s: 6790 - 6795), that were taken during a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) assisted study, which investigated the health effects of heavy metal exposure among workers of this Mexican fireworks shop.
