This 1997 photograph shows Aaron L. Sussel, a NIOSH industrial hygienist, preparing to take an air sample from a worker exposed to harmful substances found in a fireworks manufacturing shop in Tultepec, Mexico. This was one of a series of images, (see PHIL ID#’s: 6790 - 6795), that were taken during a National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) assisted study, which investigated the health effects of heavy metal exposure among workers of this Mexican fireworks shop.
