Caption:
Captured in 1975, this photographed depicted a South African traveler, shown here cooking on what is known as a brai, which is a barbeque grill. This man, later referred to as Case #1, contracted Marburg hemorrhagic fever, during the Rhodesian, now Zimbabwean Marburg fever outbreak. This traveler was infected, while hitchhiking through Zimbabwe with a companion, who most likely took this photograph, and was later hospitalized, along with his companion, known as Case #2, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
