This image depicts a close view of a male patient’s genitalia, highlighting the dorsal surface of the penis, revealing the presence of an erythematous, ulcerative lesion that was determine to be a case of lichen planus (LP) of the penile prepuce. Though LP is usually found on the flexor surfaces of the wrists and on the ankles, other sites including the lips, tongue, and buccal mucous membranes, and the penis, as was the case here, may be affected. The itchy lesions are raised, but flattened, reddish purple in color, and scaly.
