Description:This female presented with generalized peritonitis due to what was diagnosed as a pelvic abscess.
A differential diagnosis included pelvic inflammatory disease (PID), which if it had been the root cause, could begin with a pelvic origin, and become disseminated throughout the abdominopelvic cavity, thereby, causing a generalized peritonitis.
