This site in Pakistan, 1977, illustrates the poor methods by which malathion was stored, left open to the elements (see PHIL 6246). Storing malathion powder under conditions such as these, can increase the dermal exposure to this toxic vector control chemical. Epidemiologists from the CDC and the EPA, examined cases of malathion poisoning in local Pakistani malaria control team members, while provincial, and district staff performed cholinesterase analyses to determine levels of pesticide intoxication.
