This hematoxylin-eosin (H&E)-stained photomicrograph reveals the cellular changes seen in an oral hairy leukoplakia (OHL) lesion. This HIV-positive patient presented with OHL, which when biopsied, revealed cellular changes including large vacuolated cells, and accompanying koilocytes, which are cells that exhibit a perinuclear halo.
