The erythematous patch on this patient’s glans penis was diagnosed as a case of Bowen's disease, or squamous cell carcinoma in situ. The second most common form of skin cancer, squamous cell carcinoma is a highly treatable form of skin cancer arising from cellular anaplastic changes within the skin’s outer keratinized epithelial layers.
