This illustration depicts a dorsal view of two members of the class, Arachnida, a representative scorpion on the left, and a representative whip scorpion on the right. The scorpion is a member of the order, Scorpiones, while the whip scorpion is a member of the order, Uropygi. The important feature highlighted here, is that both representatives display a segmented abdominal body region, which is separate from the cephalothorax.
