This photograph depicts the fourth of eleven steps (PHIL 5738-5748) to be followed when one properly performs the activity of handwashing. Having applied hand soap to your wet hands, begin rubbing the hands together, covering all surfaces of hands and fingers, for at least 15 seconds. Careful hand hygiene is essential in laboratories. Persons should wash their hands after they handle hazardous materials, after removing gloves, and before leaving the laboratory.
