This transmission electron micrographic (TEM) image reveals some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by a number of round, hepatitis-B virus (HBV) virions in the form of infective Dane particles. These particles measure 42 nm in their overall diameter, and contain a DNA-based core that is 27 nm in diameter.
