Caption:
This 1975 image depicted an example of improperly installed stock tank, in which case, when the tank clogged, and filled with wastewater, the end of the inlet faucet became submerged, allowing for the possibility of wastewater to migrate, by way of back-siphonage, into the freshwater system. This photograph was part of a series used to inform, and educate public health inspectors, as to the proper protocols practiced when examining the sanitary conditions of water supplies they would encounter, and document in the field.
