This 1975 image depicted a kitchen sink that had been equipped with a submerged water supply inlet, which made the unsanitary, back-siphonage of dirty water possible into the water system. This image was used as part of a series, the purpose of which was to familiarize public health inspectors with what at the time, was proper food hygiene sanitation practices, and the myriad of food storage conditions found in migrant worker camps.
