Description:This southwestern Washington home was destroyed as a result of the May 18, 1980 Mount St. Helens volcanic eruption.
A surveillance program funded by the Centers for Disease Control program was inaugurated in order to monitor the effects of the eruption on some four million residents in a surrounding four-state region.
