Caption:
This photograph depicts a close lateral view of a patient’s left flank, revealing a lesion that had been diagnosed as a 2-week-old herald patch (arrowhead) on the skin of a patient with pityriasis rosea, a harmless, yet itchy, scaly skin disease often found in people 10–35yrs of age. Initially, most people develop one of these large scaly herald patches, and within 1-2wks, smaller pink patches can occur on the trunk, arms and legs.
