This photomicrograph of an unidentified tissue sample, reveals herpes virus antibodies (green), detected here using immunofluorescent (IF) staining technique. Of the twenty-five herpes viruses, only six members of the Herpesviridae family of viruses affect man. Immunofluorescent staining technique detects the presence of these viruses in tissue samples, by making the herpes virus antibodies glow green.
