Description:This micrograph depicts the mouth parts of rhabditiform staged larvae of a hookworm (Lt), and strongyloides (Rt); Mag. 500X.
The strongyloides nematode has a more complex life cycle than that of most nematodes with its alternation between free-living and parasitic cycles, and its potential for autoinfection and multiplication within the host.
