This 1976 photograph depicts some of the island formations associated with Lewis and Clark Lake in Santee, Nebraska. This region was part of a Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) investigation focusing on the minimization of risks of vector-borne diseases in water resource developments. All water treatment plants must meet U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) standards.
