These animal tracks were made by a North American deer mouse, Peromyscus maniculatus, the major carrier of Sin Nombre virus, in Estes Park, Co. The Sin Nombre virus is a specie of the genus, Hantavirus, the cause of hantavirus cardiopulmonary syndrome (HCPS), also referred to as hantavirus pulmonary syndrome (HPS), in humans.
