Caption:
This photomicrograph reveals ultrastructural details exhibited by a single sheep liver fluke, Fasciola hepatica, flatworm ovum. F. hepatica eggs are passed unembryonated in the host feces, and range in size from 120µm-150µm X 63µm-90µm. The eggs are ellipsoidal in shape, and have a small, barely distinct operculum, located at each egg’s upper end.
