This photomicrograph reveals ultrastructural details exhibited by a single Clonorchis sinensis flatworm ovum. These eggs range in size from 27µm-35µm X 11µm-20µm. The operculum, located at the smaller end of the egg, is convex, and rests on a visible shoulder. At the opposite, larger abopercular end, a small knob, or hook-like protrusion, is often observed.
