This image depicts a posterior view of the upper back of a patient, who had received a coccidioidin injection, in order to test for a history of exposure to the fungal organism, Coccidioides immitis. In this case, the patient reacted in this manner, producing this rash known as erythema nodosum, due to a sensitivity to the C. immitis antigens.
