This image depicts a close right lateral view of a patient’s torso, which displayed a generalized rash, due to a condition referred to as pityriasis rosea, a harmless, yet itchy, scaly skin disease often found in people 10 to 35-years of age. Initially, most people develop one large scaly patch, referred to as a herald patch (see PHIL 4812), and within 1-2 weeks, smaller pink patches can occur on the trunk, arms and legs.
