Caption:
This photomicrograph of human liver tissue specimen, reveals some of the ultrastructural histopathology brought on by the Ebola virus, in a case of Ebola virus disease (EVD). Particularly evident are the numerous necrotic hepatocytes, and the subsequent loss of the normally apparent sinusoidal cytoarchitecture. You’re also able to see numerous intracytoplasmic inclusion bodies, and the beginnings of fatty change, indicated by the presence of vacuolization of the hepatocytes.
