This photomicrograph reveals some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Exophiala jeanselmei, also known as Phialophora jeanselmei, a cause of phaeohyphomycosis. Note the cluster of smooth-walled, globose, conidia, arising from a conidiogenous peg.
