This is a photomicrograph of a subcutaneous tissue sample, extracted from a patient, who had presented with what turned out to be a case of phaeohyphomycosis, caused by the fungal organism, Curvularia harveyi. Note the filamentous hyphae, and yeast-like cells, contained within the chronic inflammatory granuloma.
