This photomicrograph reveals some of the ultrastructural morphology exhibited by the fungal organism, Fusarium verticillioides, which included filamentous hyphae, and conidiophores topped by clusters of elongated, elliptical conidia. F. verticillioides has been to be a cause of fatal toxicoses of horses and swine, but its effect on humans is unclear.
