Captured in 1975, this image was part of a slideshow that was used to familiarize public health inspectors with the unsanitary conditions commonly found inside migrant worker camps. This particular photograph depicted a young boy, who was a camp resident, in the process of opening the spigot on a water pipe, from which he was about to obtain a refreshing drink. The image points out how inspectors need to be aware of the sources of potable water, and inspect the immediate vicinity for potential pollutants. Camp drinking water must be tested for impurities.
