Captured in 1975, this image was part of a slideshow that was used to familiarize public health inspectors with the unsanitary conditions commonly found inside migrant worker camps. This particular photograph highlighted a camp’s septic system, which in this case, had failed, leading to this back up, forming a pool of odorous, grayish colored water, which is evidence that a wastewater drainage pipe was leaking
