This is a Sabouraud’s agar plate culture, upon which was growing the fungal organism, Fusarium verticillioides. Fumonisins, mycotoxins commonly found in maize, are produced by F. verticillioides and other Fusarium spp. that grow on corn worldwide. They can cause fatal toxicoses of horses and swine, but its effects in humans are unclear.
