This 1977 image depicts what was the Minitek® Test System, consisting of disposable well plates that are used to hold disks impregnated with biochemical substrates. The Minitek® System is one of a number of tests used in identifying members of the family Enterobacteriaceae. This family includes Escherichia spp., Salmonella spp., and Yersinia spp. infections.
