This image depicts the results of a urease test that was used in the taxonomic identification of Mycobacterium spp. bacteria. If a pink color develops, as was the case in tubes #1, 3 and 4, activity is present, and the test is positive. If there is no color change, or the color changes to yellow, as in the case of tubes #2, then urease activity is absent and the test is negative.
