This 1981 photograph showed some of the hand-held equipment that had been used in environmental mosquito control procedures. Adulticiding is accomplished by spraying very small amounts of pesticide into the air using special equipment, which can be mounted on trucks, airplanes, or used in hand-held scenarios. These methods are implemented used when larviciding is impractical or ineffective, or in emergent situations.
