Caption:
This 1969 image depicts the same 4-year-old child depicted in PHIL 3295, who’d sustained an accidental vaccinial inoculation to his right eye. At this point, 4 days after having received antiviral treatment with vaccinia immune globulin (VIG), note the crusting and resolution of these typical vaccinial lesions. Subsequently, this child sustained only very minor residual scarring.
