This historic 1945 photograph depicted a number of Office of Malaria Control in War Areas (MCWA) personnel, had gathered for a meeting in order to analyze field data that was being used to formulate an epidemiologic plan of action, to solve an unidentified epidemiologic outbreak. The MCWA was the forerunner organization for the modern Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Attendees included Drs. Boyd and Goodwin, and Mr. Usinger.
