Shown here in this historic 1966 image, while attending a Centers for Disease Control (CDC), “Conference on Smallpox Eradication and Measles Control”, were left to right, Dr. Maximillian Yekpe, Chief of Smallpox Eradication Service and Consultant in Dahomey (now Benin), West Africa, Dianne Logan, interpreter, Dahomey Health Minister, Dr. Daouda Badarou, and his wife, Dr. Emilie Badarou. At the time, a measles immunization project was being held in Cobb County, Georgia.
