Caption:
Under a magnification of 600X, this photomicrograph depicted a view of a cleistothecial initial, of the fungal organism, Nannizzia incurvata. An initial represents the beginning formation of one of the organism’s cleistothecia, which starts out as an overlapping of 2 to 3-hyphae from the same organism that become interwoven, and go on to form a mature, spore-bearing structure.
