This historic image depicts a former Malaria Control in War Areas (MCWA) field station building in Newton, Georgia. This particular building was served as the station headquarters. The Office of National Defense Malaria Control Activities, established by the offices of the U.S. Public Health Service (USPHS), February 10, 1942, was renamed the Office of Malaria Control in War Areas, MCWA, April 27, 1942.
