Caption:
This photograph depicts a dorsal view of a bat bug, Cimex pilosellus, a species of bed bug found throughout North America. These insects so closely resemble their relatives, the bed bugs, that they’re often mistaken for one another. Though bats are the normal hosts for this insect, they will move on to feed on the blood of human beings as well. This specimen was discovered as it was dropping into an office space from a void above, located in Coconino County, Flagstaff, Arizona, USA.
