Under a magnification of 47X, this photomicrograph depicted a multicellular, thick-walled macroconidium, produced by the fungal organism, Paraphyton cookei, strain M30-R, formerly known as Microsporum cookei. Note that this reproductive structure displayed a roughened surface, known as echinulate, and contained seven septa.
