This historic photograph depicted the flatbed of a mosquito spray truck, which had been fitted with a pneumatic system used to disperse mosquito insecticide used to combat populations of Aedes aegypti during the 1965 mosquito eradication program in Miami, Florida. In the 1960s, a major effort was made to eradicate the principal urban vector mosquito of dengue and yellow fever viruses, A. aegypti, from the southeastern United States.
