Here, a nurse was reviewing in-patient registers at a health facility in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), looking for patients that complained of fever and rash in the two weeks prior. The community was experiencing a measles outbreak, and the DRC Ministry of Health (MoH) was working with DRC Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC)-Atlanta, to identify, and test suspected measles cases in the community. In an effort to end the outbreak, for patient follow-up, the investigative team made visits to households of individuals identified as having symptoms consistent with measles.
