In this 2017 photograph, Dr. Linda Matadi Basadia, a graduate of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) Field Epidemiology Training Program (FELTP), in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), was using a mobile tablet device to locate, and enroll households in a serological survey for measles and rubella. During an intense 17-day period, Dr. Basadia and her team of Epidemiologists, Laboratory technicians, and community health workers from the DRC Ministry of Health (MoH) enrolled survey participants from 150-households. The team was investigating measles infections and immunity, in a community that had recently experienced a measles outbreak.
