Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) partnered with Pattimura University in Ambon, Indonesia to develop a new strategy to rapidly identify the reasons why community members don’t participate in lymphatic filariasis mass drug administration (MDA) campaigns, a critical strategy to eliminate lymphatic filariasis or elephantiasis. In this 2018 photograph, Chindyria Ihalauw (left), an MDA surveyor, was interviewing a resident, in order to determine what motivates members of the community to participate in treatment campaigns.
