In this photograph from 2017, a nurse is shown reviewing patient enrollment forms at a health facility in Kinshasa, the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), looking for patients that complained of fever and rash in the two weeks prior. The community was experiencing a measles outbreak, and the DRC Ministry of Health was working with DRC Field Epidemiology and Laboratory Training Program (FELTP), and CDC-Atlanta, to identify and test suspected measles cases in the community. In an effort to end the outbreak, the investigative team made visits to households of individuals identified as having symptoms consistent with measles, for patient follow-up.
